Ajax beat Legends 5-4 in a nine goal thriller at the weekend as the Chidobe Kachecheti Football League hit top gear.
Legends, who have improved their standard of play in this second round of fixtures, almost gave Ajax a big scare and could have won the match if it was not for a penalty they conceded in the dying stages of the match.
The Kelly Mpofu coached outfit opened the scoring as early as the fourth minute when an Ajax defender failed to control the ball, allowing Nkululeko Mahlangu to score from close range.
Sensing danger, Ajax upped their game and got the equaliser in the 28th minute through hat-tricki hero Monde Mathe, who latched onto a spilled ball to tap home.
Three minutes later Legends were back in front, again, Mahlangu with the second.
In the second half, Ajax quickly equalised through Mcebisi Vundla before Legends regained their lead, this time against the run off play as Mahlangu got his hat-trick.
But 10 minutes later Ajax drew level and quickly took the lead through Monde Mathe.
When everyone thought it was over, Legends equalised from the spot through Mcebisi Ncube, who sent the goalkeeper the wrong way after Mahlangu was tripped in the box.
Lady luck was not on the Legends side as they conceded a penalty in the 87th minutes to allow Ajax an equalise through Isaac Tshuma.
In the 90th minute Ajax got the winner through Gladwell Nyathi, who beat the offside trap and beat the goalkeeper for the winner.
Meanwhile, Dragons beat Ziyabaluma by 15- in a one sided match at Sinyore Stadium.
The Dragons were too strong for the youthful side with goals from Mqabuko Ndlovu (six),Simanga Ncube (three), Precious Ncube (two) Abel Dube (three) and Njabulo Moyo.
On Sunday, Masters beat Lupinyo Bullets by two goals.
