Two Hwange men arrested for possession of elephant tusks

Police in Victoria Falls on Thursday arrested two men at a Hwange sports areas where they were found in possession of two elephant tusks measuring over 1.2 meters

Police on Saturday confirmed arresting Godin Mudimba and Joshua Mkwananzi following a tip-off about the crime

” On 11/05/23, detectives  from Minerals, Flora and Fauna Unit, Victoria Falls acted on received information and arrested , Godin Mudimba (37) and Joshua Mkwananzi (27) at Sports Pavillion Grounds, Hwange in connection with unlawful possession of a pair of elephant tusks measuring approximately 1.06 metres each. ” 

Meanwhile, in the same day, police in Esigodini yesterday arrested three  24-year-old men on charges of murder which occurred on Thursday at a bar along Esigodini-Habane Road.

The suspects, Mgcini Masuku (24), Calvin Ndlovu (24) and Shepherd Moyo (24) allegedly attacked the victim with a Colombian knife and an axe, indiscriminately all over the body, after accusing him of dating  Moyo’s girlfriend.

Police said the victim was found dead with deep cuts on the back and head.
