The Zimbabwe Republic Police have released the names of the five victims who tragically lost their lives in a car accident on the Harare-Mutare road on Wednesday.
After notifying the next of kin, the police have confirmed that the victims are:
1. Phillip Sithole (34), a male adult from Morningside, Mutare
2. Jimmy Tinashe Sithole (28), a male adult from Morningside, Mutare
3. Samuel Sithole (27), a male adult from Morningside, Mutare
4. Rumbidzai Mlambo, a female adult from Morningside, Mutare
5. Laquisha Sithole (2), a female juvenile from Morningside, Mutare
According to police, the accident happened at 19: 20 hours, when a Ford Ranger vehicle with two passengers on board was involved in a head-on collision with a Honda Fit vehicle carrying five passengers.
The bodies of the victims were taken to Marondera Hospital mortuary for post-mortem, while the four injured survivors were admitted to the same hospital for treatment.
Police in a statement further reiterated the importance of observing speed limits and adhering to road rules and regulations to prevent such tragedies.
