Heroes Day commemorations underway in Matabeleland North

People from across Matabeleland North have gathered at the Provincial Heroes Acre in Lupane to commemorate Heroes Day.
The event is being held concurrently with similar events at provincial shrines across the country, as well as the main national event at the National Heroes Acre in Harare, which is being presided over by Emmerson President Mnangagwa.
The Lupane Provincial Heroes Acre is a sacred place where 34 heroes are laid to rest.
The atmosphere at Somhlolo is somber yet celebratory, as people come together to honor the lives and sacrifices of those who fought for Zimbabwe’s independence.
The event is an opportunity for the community to come together and reflect on the country’s history and heritage.
It is also a chance to pay tribute to the men and women who played a significant role in shaping the nation.
As the nation commemorates Heroes Day, people are reminded of the importance of unity, patriotism, and selflessness.
The event serves as a reminder of the sacrifices made by the heroes and encourages citizens to strive for a better future.
