Cabinet reports progress on housing projects in Binga and Lupane

Minister of National Housing and Social Amenities Zhemu Soda presented a report to Cabinet on the progress of housing projects being implemented by the government in Binga and Lupane.

According to Information, Publicity and Broadcasting Services Minister Jenfan Muswere, who briefed the media after the Cabinet meeting, “The construction of 20 houses for Binga flood victims has been completed, and the construction of 19 civil servants’ housing units in Lupane has also been completed.”

Muswere also mentioned that “The construction of additional houses for Binga flood victims is ongoing, with 17 more houses currently being built.”

– “The construction of 4×3-storey blocks of flats with 48 units in Dzivarasekwa, Harare has been completed and commissioned by His Excellency the President.”

– “The construction of 4×4-storey blocks of flats with 64 units in Marondera is now at 83% complete.”
– “Construction works are ongoing at the Mtawatawa Waiting Mothers Shelter.”

– Private sector projects facilitated by the Ministry, including:

– “723 stands and construction of 360 housing units of Batanayi Housing Project in Chinhoyi by National Social Security Authority of Zimbabwe”
– “36 Marondera Flats and 10 Churchill cluster homes by FBC Building Society”
– “72 Crowborough Flats by Homelink.”
