Zimbabwe Republic Police in Binga have arrested a 43-year-old man from Siamputeni village in connection with a murder case.
According to a police statement on X, the suspect, Pondai Nyoni, allegedly struck his neighbor, Albert Nyoni, with an axe following an argument.
“Police in Binga Lusulu have arrested Pondai Nyoni (43) in connection with a case of murder which occurred on 28/07/24 at around 0300 hours at Siamputeni 2 Village, Magedhi,” police wrote in a statement.
“The suspect, Pondai Nyoni (43) struck the victim, Albert Nyoni with an axe several times on the head after an argument”
The victim, 32-year-old Albert Nyoni, died at the scene.
