A Victoria Falls based pilot employed by Chikopokopo Helicopters died on Sunday after the helicopter that he was flying crashed between Norton and Chegutu on Sunday.
According to Chikopokopo company’s proprietor, Lloyd Muchaka, in an accident statement identified the pilot as Peter Chirimuuta.
“We would like to advise that one of Chikopokopo helicopters has been involved in an unfortunate accident between Norton and Chegutu this afternoon of the 10th of April,” Muchaka said.
“It is with sadness that we have lost one of our committed and dedicated Pilot Peter Chirimuuta.”
Muchaka said the relevant authorities were already conducting investigations to establish the cause of the accident.
“Chikopokopo Helicopters is requesting that we give the relevant authorities time to do their thorough investigation into the cause of this accident,” he said.
