Tsholotsho man beats wife to death over infidelity

A Tsholotsho man has been arrested for allegedly killing his wife after assaulting her with Mopani switches following an argument over infidelity.

Police said Qhelani Tshabalala (36) from Sipepa allegedly killed his wife Kujani Mudenda at Mlagisa Business Centre on May 9.

“On 09/05/22, Police in Lupane arrested Qhelani Tshabalala (36) for a case of murder that occurred at Mlagisa Business Centre, Sipepa on 09/05/22 at about 0400 hours,” police said.

“The suspect allegedly assaulted his wife, Kujani Mudenda (32), all over the body with Mopani switches after a misunderstanding on allegations of infidelity.”

Meanwhile, police said they were also investigating a murder and robbery incident which occurred at Turner Farm in Mt Pleasant, Harare on Monday night.

Police said two unknown male suspects, armed with an unknown object attacked a couple in a cabin and stole an Itel A56, JT 5606 cellphones and a wallet with US$70.

“They demanded the victims to surrender a submissive pump before tying them with ropes,”police revealed.

“The husband later succumbed to the injuries sustained during the assault.

In another case, on 08/05/22 at about 2100 hours, a Harare man (28) was attacked by six unknown suspects armed with an iron bar at Mashed Complex, Southlea Park after they alleged that he had stolen their cash.

“The victim was taken to Sally Mugabe Hospital on 09/05/22 where he died upon admission.”
