Masters Football Club on Saturday celebrated their Independence cup win in style as they invited their supporters to cheer with them.
Masters beat Dragon Football Club 4-3 on penalties on April 18.
Speaking during the celebrations, the club’s vice chairperson Chester Mpofu said the win for a rural community club meant a lot to them following years of misses.
“It is the first time to celebrate a cup after three years since winning Mvuthu Soccer League championship, that is why we called all Masters supporters and Chidobe Kachechete Football League executives to celebrate with us,”
Masters who were formed in 2002 have won six trophies in their history and they need more.
“Let us all unite and support our children as this will make them realize their talent.” he further said.
The club coach Witness Mnyulwa said he was happy about the celebrations and he hoped for more trophies.
“My football plan is to use energy and we normally play positional football, l trust the boys for their endurance and it is what got us this far.”
The league chairman Standard Weza said celebrations will go a long way for Masters as they have set a good example for other clubs.
The win put Masters into the Africa day cup final against division one team Mosi Rovers, who won the cup in Victoria Falls.
The match will be played at Chidobe Sinyore Stadium.
