Lupinyo Bullets ln Champions League semis

Lupinyo Bullets beat Monde League runners up, Super Eagles by three goals to two in the second leg of the Champions league quarter – finals played over the weekend.

Lupinyo, who finished third in the Chidobe Kachecheti Football League, made their work easier on Saturday by beating Super Eagles two zero at their own backyard, cruised into a comfortable victory on Sunday with a well executed goals from man of the match Tyrol Ncube, who scored a hatrick with the other goal coming from Brightman Dube.

After winning two nil on Saturday, it was evident that Lupinyo will progress, and they did it in style when Ncube lurched on a pass from Mthokozisi Ncube.

Lupinyo added the second after fifty nine minutes of play with a blistering shot that was saved by the goalkeeper, but it spilled over the line to make two nil.

After the goal, Super Eagles changed their game plan with Darlington Weza dictating the pace in the middle of the park.

In the seventeenth minute, the Eagles pulled one back from Sihle Weza after poor defending by Lupinyo at the back, and a minute later it was two one following Brightman Mathe’s scoring from the spot after Khulumane Mathe was fouled in the box.

Lupinyo will now progress to the semis where they are set to play Masters who beat Cremora.

Masters who were held to a goalless draw on Saturday at home managed to claw back on Sunday to beat Cremora in their own backyard.

In the other quarter-finals, the Dragons progressed with a one all draw in the second leg against Gorges whom they beat three goals to one.

Their win sets up a Champions semi-final with Indlovu Iyanyathela from Monde who edged past Ajax by two clear goals after playing a goalless draw on Saturday.

The winners in the two semis will battle it out for the trophy next Sunday.
