Legislators descend on Victoria Falls for budget

Legislators from across the country have started arriving in Victoria Falls for the 2022 pre-budget seminar that starts this weekend.

The annual gathering will see members of the National Assembly and senators giving their input on the budget ahead of its presentation by Finance minister Mthuli Ncube next month.

Parliament’s public accounts committee will kick start the seminar on Saturday by presenting a review of the performance of the 2021 national budget.

The committee will also make presentations on 2022 revenue and expenditure targets, fiscal framework, economic outlook and the key budget assumptions.

Ncube will also give a presentation followed by Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe government John Mangudya who will talk about the monetary and fiscal policies.

Legislators will give their input into the next fiscal policy statement taking into account the key issues raised during the public consultations that were conducted across the country.

The seminar ends on Tuesday.
