Former Chika player donates football jerseys

Two of Chidobe Kachecheti Football League (Chika) teams Mopane and Power Giants have received football Jerseys from a German based former Chief Mvuthu player.

The handover was recently done where all Chidobe village heads, Chika executives,and supporters gathered to receive the gesture from Armen Maramba. 

During the handover Maramba said while living abroad, his dream has been to give back to his society. 

He, however, revealed that the donation was through an effort of some of his friends whom he works with back in Germany.

“I am so pleased to see people gathering for such a gift, but we pray that everything will work according to plan, because we are planning to install a solar powered borehole for our community.” Maramba revealed.

Maramba played for Power Giants before moving to Mopane in the early nineties before leaving for Germany.

In his remarks the league chairperson Standard Weza challenged youths to get inspiration from Maramba.

“This is a challenge to all young people,” he said. 

“Football is meant to unite and keep you fit and I encourage young people to do so and stop abusing drugs to save your lives.” 

The two teams played a match after the presentation  as a sign of appreciation which resulted in Power Giants beat Mopane by a goal to nil.
