President Mnangagwa has bestowed the highest honor on the late Col (Rtd) Tshinga Dube, declaring him a National Hero.
This recognition comes after Col Dube’s passing on Thursday evening at Materdei Hospital, where he succumbed to kidney failure.
Minister of Defence and State Security, Opah Muchinguri-Kashiri, delivered the news to the Dube family on Friday.
With a heavy heart, she conveyed the President’s condolences and announced the conferral of National Hero Status upon Col Dube.
Muchinguri-Kashiri praised Col Dube as a “revolutionary, strategist, and dear brother” who made the ultimate sacrifice for Zimbabwe’s liberation. She emphasized that his contributions will never be forgotten and that his legacy will live on.
The Minister also revealed that Col Dube will be laid to rest at the National Heroes Acre in Harare, with the date to be announced soon.
Col Dube’s family shared that he had been battling illness for the past decade, and his passing has left a void in the lives of those who knew and loved him. L
