A Bulawayo woman vanished after handing over her three-month-old baby to a stranger at the Nkulumane Complex after claiming that she wanted to relieve herself.
Police are now searching for the woman, who turned her back on her young daughter on December 27 on a suspected case of baby dumping.
“The Zimbabwe Republic Police is investigating a case of a child, who was dumped at Nkulumane Complex, Bulawayo on 27/12/21, by an unknown woman,” police said.
“The woman asked a 46-year-old woman to take care of her baby girl (approximately months old) and a small box which had the baby’s clothes, claiming that she wanted to relieve herself.”
