Leopards have won all their five opening fixtures and amassed 15 points in the process.

The team finished eighth last season, but they are turning the tables this term with brilliant performances.

Pundits may argue that Black Leopards’s dominance is linked to the breakaway by other clubs who formed the Chidobe Kachecheti Football League, but that does not take the shine away from the team of the moment.

They have beaten Red Wipers, who were placed second last season by two goals to nil, they saw off Cer-Class, who finished fifth, before beating Ndlovu and Black Bulls with identical scorelines of 2-0.

Meanwhile, Cer-Class moved six places up on the log standings after being awarded three points from their disputed game against Power Stars after being awarded a penalty towards the end of the match two weeks ago.

This weekend they beat Black Bulls at Mlonda Stadium by four goals to nil.

The win takes Cer-Class up, five points behind log leaders Black Leopards who laboured to dismantle the stubborn Wounded Buffaloes defence at eBhavini Stadium on Sunday.

Enock Sibanda was the hero for Black Leopards once again as the junior league graduate’s second half strike was enough to give Leopards a 1-0 win against their Wounded Buffaloes to maintain their pole position on the Mvuthu Soccer League log standings ahead of Power Stars and Red Devils , who also notched crucial victories.

Elsewhere, third placed Power Stars moved to within a point of second placed Cer-Class after being awarded three points on a 3-0 score line following Naira Star’s failure to turn up for the match at their home ground.

Red Wipers fell to fourth position despite their 2-1 defeat of Ndlovu United, after three points were deducted from their previous points tally following a disciplinary committee decision last week that cancelled their win against Wounded Buffaloes and ordered a replay of the match at Red Wipers expense.

Ndlovu United further lost ground in the title race after succumbing to a Red Wipers onslaught during the weekend and are in the fifth position followed by Black Bulls, Wounded Buffaloes and Naira Stars who are at the bottom of the log.
