A 11 year-old Victoria Falls girl committed suicide by hanging herself on a tree in an incident that has left her family searching for answers.
The body of the girl, who was a student at primary school in Bulawayo where she lived with her mother was found lifeless under a family tree in Njube suburb on Sunday.
When VicFallsLive visited the Chishemu family in Chinotimba high density suburbs mourners were still waiting for full details surrounding her death.
“We were informed about her sudden death from Bulawayo, but we don’t have full details,” the girl’s grandmother said.
“At the moment, we are still waiting for credible information, but we gathered that she hanged herself using a wire.
“We are yet find out more from the relatives that went to Bulawayo to bring the deceased’s body home.”
According to the relatives, the girl lived with her mother after her parents separated and would visit her father in Victoria Falls during holidays.
Her body is expected to arrive on Wednesday at the family home for burial on Friday.
