Hwange’s Zimbabwe Power Company (ZPC) Football Club outplayed Victoria Falls based Mosi Rovers by four goals to nil in an exciting match at lngagula Stadium on Saturday.
ZPC was in mean mood as they collected three points against their rivals, who had better ball possession in most parts of the match.
Rovers could not just hit the target after getting several chances to turn the match in their favour.
With all the chances from the visitors going to waste, it was ZPC’s turn to capitalise and they did that in style with four goals to earn the much-needed maximum points in this Southern Region Division one fixture.
The win, which was not good news for the visiting coach Mehluli Moyo, takes took ZPC into the top eight on the log standings.
Moyo blamed the result on the refereel whom he accused of deciding the match.
“The game was ok, we out classed them but the referee had to decide the outcome” a distraught Moyo said.
The win took ZPC to fourth on the log ahead of Mosi Rovers who are on 17 points, five shy of log leaders Hwange Football Club.
Meanwhile, in another match played in the coal mining town, log leaders Hwange proved too strong for visiting Mainline Football Club at the Hwange Colliery Stadium.
The home side easily won the match by three goals to nil to maintain their top spot with 24points from 10 outings.
The league is becoming exciting even though it still at its infancy with second placed Arenel also collecting points away to Bosso 90.
The win kept Arenel second, two pints behind Chipangano but with a game in hand.
