Police detectives in Bulawayo cracked down on wildlife crime, arresting two suspects in possession of raw ivory.
In a statement, police said Brilliant Mkhosana (39) and Jonathan Mkhwedu (33) were found with two pieces of raw ivory, valued at US$780.00.
“On 16/07/24 detectives in Bulawayo acted on received information and arrested Brilliant Mkhosana (39) and Jonathan Mkhwedu (33) at corner R Mugabe Way and Masotsha Ndlovu Road in connection with unlawful possession of two pieces of raw ivory valued at US$780.00.”
In a separate incident, a gruesome murder shook the Ntambana, villagers in Khami area where Honest Nkomo (34) was arrested in connection with the brutal killing of his wife, Milikani Moyo (27) on Tuesday.
“The suspect struck his wife, Milikani Moyo (27) with a pick on the head after finding her sprinkling unknown substances in the plate of porridge the suspect was supposed to eat,” police said.
The victim died instantly.
