Tsholotsho police in Siphepha has arrested a 16-year-old male juvenile from in Sawudweni Line, for allegedly raping his 11-year-old cousin sister.
According to the police report, the victim’s grandmother, Patricia Ncube, had left her homestead at around 11 am, leaving the victim and her sister, Faith Ncube, in the custody of the accused person.
The accused person allegedly sent the victim to clean the grandmother’s bedroom hut, where he then followed her and committed the heinous crime.
Ncube, seeing that the two had disappeared for sometime, decided to follow them to the bedroom and found the accused person raping the victim and reported the incident to the grandmother.
The grandmother, upon her return on Tuesday immediately reported the incident to the police, leading to the arrest of the accused person.
The victim was taken to Tsholotsho Hospital for medical examination.
The case is currently under investigation, and the accused person is facing charges of rape.
