Lower Six students to commence lessons on Monday

The Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education has revealed that Lower Six learners will commence their lessons on Monday next week.

The announcement was made on Tuesday Tumisang Thabela who is the permanent secretary in the ministry. 

“The Commencement date for the lower six classes is Monday, the 13th of February 2023,” she revealed in a letter written to all provincial education directors.. 

“Please ensure that all heads of schools, teachers, parents and the learners are advised of this date.”

Thabela said the learner’s fees will be paid based on the approved calculations. 

“The fees payable by the lower six learners will be on prorate basis to the approved term one fees for each school given by the following formula:

” Number of Days Remaining in term 1 2023 by Total Approved Term 1 fees number of days in term one/ Number of Days in term 1 2023.

“All schools are expected to comply with this directive.”

According to Zimbabwe Schools Examination Council, only 28.6 percent of the learners who set for their 2022 examinations passed with atleast 5 ordinary levels.
