The accused, Fungai Mufundirwa (38) and Kaseba Cosmas Ngwenya (72), are security personnel at Garlpex Investments (Private) Limited.

According to court records, Mufundirwa, the security manager, and Ngwenya, a security guard, allegedly directed two men to find buyers for the company’s mining equipment in July.

The equipment was sold to a buyer from Bulawayo for US$3 000 cash, who later sold it to a Chinese company in Bulawayo.

The duo then filed a police report claiming the equipment had been stolen.

Investigations led by the police uncovered the truth, and a tip-off on July 24, revealed that the equipment had been sold.

The police traced the buyer, who implicated Mufundirwa and Ngwenya, leading to their arrest.
