The Cabinet has approved revised minimum wages and conditions of employment for domestic workers and employees in unclassified operations, with the new rates taking immediate effect, according to a post-Cabinet briefing released on Tuesday.
Under the new framework, workers in unclassified operations will earn a minimum wage of US$270, payable in local currency.
Domestic workers will receive minimum wages based on their roles, with general domestic workers and yard workers/gardeners set to earn US$90 per month.
Cooks and housekeepers will earn US$99, while child, disabled and aged minders will receive US$108. Minders caring for disabled or elderly persons who hold a Red Cross certificate will earn US$117.
The government said the revised wages take effect immediately.
The review comes as authorities seek to adjust employment conditions in response to changing economic realities and labour market demands.
